Leicester could earn up to €600k from summer sale – Details of operation revealed

Leicester City could end up earning as much as €600,000 from the sale of youngster Alex Pascanu, according to Fanatik in Romania, as the centre-back returned to his homeland this summer after failing to break through to the first-team at the King Power Stadium, according to SportWitness.co.uk.

Pascanu arrived at Leicester from age eight and moved up the club’s youth ranks in the intervening years.

His chances of first-team football were seemingly limited, though, despite featuring for Leicester’s development squad and impressive performances in Romania’s U21 squad during their an unbeaten Euro 2019 qualifying campaign.

And that saw him returning to his homeland this summer, with CFR Cluj moving to snap up the highly-rated Romanian.

There has been little information about the move, particularly the finances, but Fanatik have now revealed how much the Foxes could make from a player who never featured for the first team.

They report that Cluj paid an initial €300k for the 20-year-old, with a further €200k coming in instalments over the next two years.

The Foxes will also be due another €100k if Cluj qualify for the Champions League group stages.
