INS: Romanian business managers estimate price increases in all sectors

Business managers in Romania are expecting a reduction of business volume in construction, stagnation in the manufacturing industry, a slight growth for services and retail trade and an increase in prices in all sectors, according to the National Institute of Statistics.

According to the business tendency survey of December 2017, managers in the manufacturing industry forecast a relative stability of the production volume for the next three months. A growth tendency is estimated for the manufacturing of other transport equipment.

A moderate growth is foreseen for the prices of industrial products over the next three months, while a relative stability is expected regarding the number of employees in the manufacturing industry.

For construction, the INS survey among business managers shows that a majority of them expect a decrease in the production volume over the next three months, as well as a decrease in the number of employees. A moderate growth is also anticipated for the prices of construction works.

In the retail trade sectors, managers estimate a relative stability of economic activity, while we may see a moderate decrease in the volume of orders placed by trade units to suppliers of goods over the next three months. Retail trade is expected to get more employees and higher prices.
