Romania’s jobless rate recorded a new low in the last eight years, with 521,000 people looking for a job, which was the equivalent of a 5.7 percent unemployment rate in November 2016, shows the data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS), according to Business-Review.eu.
In October, there were 522,472 unemployed and the jobless rate was 5.8 percent.
The revised data shows that the unemployed number fell to 85,500 in the last year, from 606,698 in November 2015, says News.ro.
The unemployment rate is still the highest among men, with a rate of 6.5 percent in November 2016, while among women the unemployment rate is 4.7 percent, says the data.
The unemployment rate had a floating evolution in 2016, registering drops in the first four months of the year, in June, August, and November, but also increases in May, July, September and October.
The companies’ heads are complaining more and more often of the unqualified work force, that is starting to limit the businesses development from Romania.
