Dec. 11 elections official results: Senate: PSD – 45.67pct, PNL – 20.41pct/Deputies’ Chamber: PSD – 45.47pct, PNL – 20.04pct

parlamentAccording to the final results posted by the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC), the Social Democratic Party (PSD)attracted 45.67 percent of the votes cast in Sunday’s parliamentary elections for the Senate and 45.47 percent for the Chamber of Deputies, says Business-Review.eu.

The PSD, the main party in the new elected Parliament, gained 67 seats in the Senate and 154 seats in the Chamber of Deputies. The National Liberal Party (PNL), the main opposition party, attracted 20.41 percent of the votes to secure 30 seats in the Senate and 20.04 percent in the Chamber of Deputies to gain 69 seats in the Chamber of Deputies.

Newcomer Save Romania Union (USR) secured 13 seats in the Senate, after attracting 8.92 percent of votes, and 30 seats in theChamber of Deputies, with 8.87 percent.

The Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) gained9 seats in the Senate after securing 6.24 percent of votes and 21 seats in the Chamber of Deputies, with 6.18 percent of votes.

The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats (ALDE) has 9 seats in the Senate, with 6.00 pct, and 20 seats in the Deputies’ Chamber, with 5.62 pct.

The People’s Movement Party (PMP) gained 8 seats in the Senate with 5.65 percent of votes and 18 seats in the Chamber of Deputies, with 5.34 percent of votes.

The organisations representing national minorities obtained 17 seats in in the Chamber of Deputies, in total.
