Romanian stock indices ended mostly in the green on Wednesday in higher turnover, bourse data indicated, quoted by SeeNews.com.
The total equity turnover of the BVB rose to 56.1 million lei ($13.2 million /912.4 million euro) from 43.9 million lei on Tuesday.
In regular trading, blue-chip lender Banca Transilvania [BSE: TLV] rose 0.42% to 2.41 lei in Wednesday’s largest turnover of 12.2 million lei.
Blue-chip bank BRD Societe Generale [BSE: BRD] fell 0.18% to 11.24% in the day’s second largest turnover of 9.76 million lei.
Blue-chip oil and gas group OMV Petrom [BSE:SNP] gained 2.02% to 0.2475 lei in the day’s third-largest turnover of 8.02 million lei.
OMV Petrom shares went up after the appreciation of oil prices in international markets following the agreement between the countries that are part of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and the non-OPEC countries. On Saturday, OPEC and non-OPEC producers signed their first deal to cut crude oil production since 2001, which resulted in oil prices soaring 5% on Monday.
Last week, Romanian privately-owned medical services provider MedLife has launched an initial public offering (IPO) until December 15 on the Bucharest bourse, BVB, hoping to raise up to 308 million lei through the sale of a 44% stake.
