Bucharest stock mkt turnover triples on trade

bvbInvestment fund Fondul Proprietatea  [BSE: FP], Banca Transilvania [BSE:TLV] and electric wiring  maker Romcab [MCAB] together generated almost 60% of the turnover on the Bucharest Stock Exchange on Tuesday, reports SeeNews.com.

The total equity turnover of the BVB surged to 36.5 million lei ($8.9 million /9.1 million euro) from 12.64 million lei on Monday.

In regular trading, Fondul Proprietatea  [BSE: FP] fell 0.12% to 0.8050 lei in Tuesday’s largest turnover of 17.68 million lei.

On Monday, the fund’s approved the continuation of the mandate of Franklin Templeton as sole administrator and fund manager. Shareholders also voted for a subscribed share capital decrease from 8.56 billion lei to 5.74 billion lei, through the decrease of the nominal value of its shares. On Friday, Fondul Proprietatea has reduced its share capital from 9.32 billion lei  to 9.16 billion lei by cancelling 161.6 million of its own shares.

Banca Transilvania [BSE:TLV] gained 1.94% to 2.36 lei in the day’s second-largest turnover of 6.07 million lei.

Romcab [BSE: MCAB] rose 1.12% at 9 lei in the day’s third-largest turnover of 2.24 million lei.
